The Second Victims program is one of the services provided for healthcare professionals. It is a series of workshops that explore how traumatic experiences impact the mind, brain, and relationships of healthcare professionals who experience secondary trauma after working with patients who have been traumatized. The workshops help the healthcare professional identify the signs and symptoms of secondary trauma that occur as a result of working with traumatized patients, families of patients, or clients.
If left unresolved, secondary trauma can create boundary problems in the workplace, impair communication with patients, clients and colleagues, and can leave the healthcare worker feeling fatigued and burned out. Our services help to restore balance to the nervous system while equipping the healthcare worker with tools that improve communication, create healthy boundaries, and restore the mind, body, spirit, and relationships.
The services can be conducted with a group or with an individual.
